Taste Film: Saturday Night Fever

Taste Film returns, following the success of their Paradise debut last month - a screening of the classic 1987 horror-com The Lost Boys.

This time it's a much less freaky affair. On Friday 24th November we're excited to invite you to a very special one-off, 40th anniversary screening of Frank Capra’s ‘Saturday Night Fever’. Hustle your way into Paradise, and step back into 1970s Brooklyn with Tony Manero (John Travolta).

Transcend into 2001 Odyssey with 3 all-American courses, whilst also sampling our 'uppers' and 'downers' in cocktail and shot form, all served during distinct and memorable scenes of the production.

But wait, that’s not all! This celebratory screening will be followed by a '70s themed party, for the inner flare-wearing, bump dancer in you. Disco pants, flares and pointy finger moves are all welcome.

This is a multi-sensory experience for any Travolta fan, and a unique opportunity to taste Tony Manero’s world, if only for one night.

Tickets are very limited - hit the link to grab yours. If you fancy a sample of the Taste Film experience, check out 'The Lost Boys' after movie below...

Q&A: Sarah Main

Bringing some much needed Ibiza spirit to Paradise as the nights get colder, we welcome Sarah Main for an all-night Back To Ours set this Friday.
Entry is free before 10.30pm and just £5 after. Sign up to the guestlist here:  http://bit.ly/2jrQysD

A long established and truly versatile artist, Aussie-born Sarah honed her hypnotic House music sound during many years on the White Isle as main room resident for Pacha, a regular guest at Space Ibiza and a two year residency at Ushuaia. In 2006 Sarah won 'Best Ibiza DJ' at the Ibiza DJ Awards, and was cited by Frankie Knuckles as his favourite female DJ, with Pete Tong and Erick Morillo nominating her as their favourite warm-up DJ.

Having played clubs and festivals all over the world, taking her Mobile Disco party brand with her, Sarah is now residing in London. We're over the moon to welcome her Back To Ours this Friday, and she was kind enough to shoot the breeze with us ahead of her set...

1) Your house is on fire - you can grab one vinyl and one vinyl only - what would you take?

My Stevie Wonder- Songs in the Key of Life album. The last time I was in London was for his concert in the park which was EPIC. Stevie's the man!

2) We're big foodies at Paradise. When you eat out, what's your favourite dish to find on a menu?

I always choose a good fish dish so I guess I'll be choosing the sea bass on Friday night when we dine before my set. I have heard from reliable sources that the food is quite delicious at Paradise.

3) Anything big happening in the coming few months you can talk about? New releases, tours, festivals?

I'll be heading back to the homeland; Sydney, Australia early next year for a mini tour which has been a long time coming - six years to be precise. I almost forgot what vegemite was!

Studio time here in London is on the agenda for the coming months. Winter time for Ibiza dwellers is the only time we really get anything done so I'm planning to make the most of my time here in London Town. I will also be throwing some of my Mobile Disco parties in London over the winter so stay tuned for that. You can check out my Mobile Disco shows that air on Ibiza Global Radio here: www.mixcloud.com/SarahMain

4) What's your cocktail of choice? Or are you a beer/wine/non-alcohol kinda girl?

Nothing beats a fine Sauvignon Blanc from the Marlbrough region of New Zealand. For cocktails I would always go an Espresso Martini to give me an extra little perk.

5) On the rare day off from the studio and DJ schedule, what do you get up to?

Ha! Well this depends where I am to be honest. As I've just moved to London I'm pretty overwhelmed with choices but wherever I am it’s always nice to do something in contrast to the nightlife. Keeping the balance is important…. I've finally learned! So anything in nature, from beach days to mountain hikes. I think here in London it will most probably be walks in the parks and forests. So rock 'n roll!

However I'm not averse to the odd bit of fun so hanging with my mates is also high on the agenda when I have free time!

Q&A: John Monkman

John Monkman is a veteran of the electronic music scene, with releases on some of the biggest labels in the deep house and techno world, including Crosstown Rebels, Noir Music, Get Physical and Kompakt. His back catalogue is up there with the best, receiving regular support from the likes of Sasha, Pete Tong (who he has collaborated with) and Jonas Rathsman, as well as regular plays on Radio 1 via Skream and Danny Howard.

Touching down for a Back To Ours session at Paradise this Friday November 10th, John is joined by longtime collaborator and super-talented vocalist Liz Cass
It's set to be a massive one, with free entry before 10.30pm and just £5 after. Sign up to the guestlist here: http://bit.ly/2hkklmm

Ahead of his all night set, we asked John a few questions...

1)  Your house is on fire - you can grab one vinyl and one vinyl only - what would you take?

Eek...Jive Bunny?! I had a huge chunk of my vinyl collection nicked from my car roughly ten years ago and I sadly miss many of my gems. Looking at it now, Richard D - James Album would be a good one to reach for.

2) We're big foodies at Paradise. When you eat out, what's your favourite dish to find on a menu?

I love quality Mexican food, specifically fish tacos. They have a cheeky knack of summoning me.

3) Anything big happening in the coming few months you can let us know about?

I’ll be releasing three tracks on Sasha's label ‘Last night On Earth’ on November 17th. It's gonna be big - I'm super excited about this. This will then be followed by the fourth collaboration between myself and Pete Tong.

4) What's your cocktail of choice? Or are you a beer/wine/alcohol-free man?

All the above! I'm a sucker for a good Old Fashioned. Tequila is also a good thing.

5) On the rare day off from the studio and DJ schedules, what do you get up to?

To be honest, it’s all fairly civilised - seeing friends, cooking, going for walks with the hound.

Thanks John – we’ll make sure the bartenders are well prepped with the whiskey and tequila this weekend!
